We run a number of competitions and awards for students, from our Great Debate aimed at those age 15 and over to our Write your own historical fiction awards for pupils age 9 and up and a number of different competitions under the umbrella of the Young Historian Scheme. In addition to these we have our Young Quills Award.
Essay Prizes and Competitions; Philosophy Essay Prize; Philosophy Essay Prize. The Philosophy Essay Prize is open to Year 12 or Lower 6th students. I've heard about essay competitions run by various Oxbridge colleges (e.g. the Vellacott Prize at Peterhouse, Cambridge), and was simply wondering whether it would be worth entering one. Has anyone on here entered one? Would you say it was a good experience? Is it extremely difficult? I'm a Scottish Higher student, by the way (Highers are roughly equivalent to AS levels).
